Fly Fishing Trip Packing List:

You can use this list to make sure you have all the essentials and some extras to make your guided fly fishing trip a great experience.

• Wyoming Fishing License - You can pick up your fishing license and other essentials at these locations in Thermopolis. Or you can get your license in advance on the Wyoming Game and Fish Web site.

  • Wyoming Game and Fish Licensing Portal - Follow the instruction to create an account and get your fishing license. In Wyoming you can keep a copy of your license on you smart phone.

  • Thermopolis Hardware Store 158 US-20, Thermopolis, WY 82443 Hours - 8am - 7pm Mon. - Sat. 12pm - 4pm Sunday

  • Mac’s Grocery Store 600 S. 6th Street Thermopolis, WY 82443 Hours - 7am - 9pm 7 days a week

• Polarized Sun Glasses - to protect your eyes.

• Smart Phone or Camera - for pictures of your adventure! We will take pictures of your memorable and beautiful trophy fish however it’s nice to have the ability to take a photo of the scenery, wildlife, or your fishing partner reeling in the big one!

• Wide Brimmed Hat or Cap - to help keep the sun off your face and out of your eyes.

• Sunscreen & Lip Balm - sunburn and or chapped lips are never fun!

• Medications - if you need them don’t forget to bring them along. We have a dedicated dry box for your personal items.

• Rain Jacket - It’s Wyoming “if you don’t like the weather wait a hour and it will change” be prepared.

• Layered Clothing - quick-drying, synthetic/wool base and mid-layers. We have storage for your layers it is better to bring them and not need them than to need them and not bring them.

• Comfortable Sox - We recommend wool or synthetic, for wearing with wading boots.

• Wading Boots - We recommend not using felt sole wading boots.

• Reusable Water Bottle we provide bottled water however, we prefer, if you bring your own reusable bottle.

• Fishing Vest or Pack (if carrying personal tools/fly boxes)

• Fishing Tools - We will be happy tie your rigs however, and have all the tools you'll need on hand so if your new or just don’t want to bring your gear bag we have you covered! Most fly anglers like to carry their tools and it’s a good plan to have a set of basic tools while fishing.

• Your Favorite Snacks or Beverages - We provide lunch and water for our guided fishing trips, but if you want your favorite soda, adult beverages, or have snacks that you like to have on hand we have a nice cooler and storage available to help make it your best day on the water.
